Construction work for a new shopping centre at Logan Reserve began this week.
The multi-million-dollar Logan Reserve Neighbourhood Shopping Centre development promises to bring significant employment opportunities to the region with 80 direct and indirect jobs for local builders and suppliers during the 12-month build, and an estimated 140 retail jobs on completion.
Located at 450-458 Chambers Flat Road, Logan Reserve, on the corner of Chambers Flat Road and Park Ridge Road, the 4000sqm new neighbourhood shopping centre will feature a full line supermarket with Direct to Boot Drive Thru facility and 15 shops and services including a proposed medical centre and alfresco dining precinct.
Woolworths Logan Reserve Neighbourhood Shopping Centre will be a 4-Star Green Star development, rated by the Green Building Council of Australia, with sustainability features set to include solar panels and rainwater detention tanks.
The new retail precinct is expected to open at the end of 2023.
Woolworths Logan Reserve Plan
“This development of the Logan Reserve Neighbourhood Shopping Centre will continue our strong record of economic contribution to Queensland, including in the Logan area, and create hundreds of local jobs,” said Woolworths Regional Development Manager Savanah Powell.
“The Woolworths Supermarket at the heart of the development will be designed as a neighbourhood food store providing a great shopping experience for our customers, a great fresh offer, and the convenience they are looking for.
“We’re ready to deliver Logan Reserve residents, and the broader community, a modern convenient and sustainable neighbourhood shopping centre that will meet their needs well into the future.
“We look forward to welcoming customers into our store and centre towards the end of 2023.”
Bert van Manen MP, Federal Member for Forde, was also at the sod turning and said that he welcomes this continued investment by Woolworths in the electorate of Forde.
“This supermarket and shopping precinct will provide additional retail choice for Logan Reserve as well as creating employment opportunities for the local residents during its construction and into the future.”
